What a Simple Volunteer Activity Taught Me About Teaching

“I [salute] all the teachers out there, it is indeed a noble profession. It takes a long rope of patience and dedication to not simply teach but to mould each person to become what she/he wants to be.”

Before, I was always wondering, how does it feel to become a teacher? Well the quote that states that “you will never know until you’ve tried” actually answered my wondering mind. I would like to thank iVolunteer Philippines in cooperation with He Cares Foundation for giving me the opportunity to experience such a fulfilling job even just for a short span of time.

Not only that I’ve met new friends from different fields, and from different age span, I also realized upon seeing the children in the foundation that not all kids and teenagers nowadyas are lost souls (pariwara), they were very active in all activities and you can actually see their eagerness to learn through their eyes and actions.

I believe that given the chance and right guidance those kids will become good citizens, passionate and honest professionals of the next generation. I also salute all the teachers out there, it is indeed a noble profession. It takes a long rope of patience and dedication to not simply teach but to mould each person to become what she/he wants to be.
