The second quarter of 2026 was packed with on-the-ground action, showcasing our collaborative efforts to expand iVolunteer Philippines. From April through June, our community of volunteers, partners, and advocates stepped out of their comfort zones to demonstrate that the spirit of bayanihan knows no bounds. This quarter was marked by a strong push in Mindanao, meaningful capacity-building for our core team, and immediate mobilization in times of crisis. As we reflect on these three months, we are deeply grateful for every individual who generously shared their time, talent, and treasure to uplift communities across the country.

Expanding Our Mindanao Presence

The second quarter saw a massive community presence in Mindanao, driven by the passion of our Mindanao Regional Unit (MRU). So to honor the champions behind these regional milestones, we held the Davao Partners Appreciation Night on April 29, gathering our local network to celebrate the organizations and individuals who continuously champion community collaboration.

From the communities, we brought our advocacies closer to people through guesting in local radio and campuses. iVolunteer Director Cai Salvacion and Partnership Builder Kyle Pasibas guested on Spirit FM Ambit GN News to share how the iVolunteer platform bridges the gap between volunteers and volunteer opportunities.

We also connected with student leaders at the University of Mindanao during the Diverse Voices and Global Goals event on April 27. All of these community-building efforts culminated on June 6 to 7, when we successfully brought the GO! Volunteer Expo 2026 to the SM City Davao Ecoland Annex Activity Center, directly connecting non-profits with 13,000 motivated citizens in the region.

On the Ground: Community Engagements

Beyond our major regional events, our volunteers were also actively making an impact on the ground with our partner NGOs. On May 30, we held a Community Meetup with the 2KK Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid Foundation in Payatas, Quezon City, supporting their mission of holistic youth development. In Davao, we spent a meaningful Volunteer Day on April 9 alongside the Tambayan Center for Children’s Rights.

Supporting Our Core Team

To support our growing community, we give significant importance in capacity building for our own core volunteers. On April 18, we hosted Start Your Adventure, a virtual onboarding session to help new volunteers navigate the platform and find causes that resonate with their passions. For our internal leadership, the core team traveled for a purposeful team-building weekend on May 16 to 17 at the Animal Kingdom Foundation, immersing ourselves in their mission of animal welfare.

We also focused on upskilling our leaders by hosting a Volunteer Engagement Workshop at the Grand Soho Building in Makati on May 23, ensuring our Manila-based volunteer leaders are ready to facilitate meaningful experiences.

Furthermore, iVolunteer co-founder JB Tan was featured on Face-to-Face with Ate Koring, an opportunity that allowed us to share the origins and enduring mission of the platform with a wider audience.

Stepping Up in Crisis: Mindanao Earthquake Relief

Volunteerism is not just about planned events; it is also about rising to the occasion when our fellow Filipinos need us most. Following the massive magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck off the coast of Sarangani province on June 8, the iVolunteer community quickly mobilized. Utilizing our platform, we issued an urgent call for donations to support the affected communities in Mindanao, proving once again the agility and deep compassion of our volunteer network.

Looking Ahead: Gearing Up for GO! Volunteer 2026 Manila Leg

As we close out a colorful second quarter, we are already gearing up for our next big milestone: hitting the ground running for the Manila leg of the GO! Volunteer Expo 2026, scheduled for July at SM North EDSA. We can’t wait to see the rest of the community as we continue to celebrate the International Year of Volunteers!
