The first quarter of 2026 is off to a strong and meaningful start for iVolunteer Philippines. From January through March, our community of volunteers, partners, and advocates came together to demonstrate that the spirit of bayanihan is alive and well. This quarter was marked by heartfelt celebrations, groundbreaking research, and the kind of genuine human connections that remind us all why we show up to serve. As we reflect on these first three months, we are filled with gratitude for every individual and organization that chose to be part of this movement.
iVolunteer’s Q1 2026 Impact at a Glance
During Q1, iVolunteer Philippines continued to expand its reach and impact, mobilizing 2,257 dedicated volunteers who registered through the platform and connected with their preferred NGOs for meaningful community engagement. These passionate individuals contributed their time and skills across volunteer events hosted by 30 partner NGOs, showcasing the growing momentum of the volunteer movement nationwide. Through these collaborative efforts, volunteers generated an impressive 25,457 volunteering hours, addressing critical needs across education, environmental conservation, health, and social welfare sectors. The quarter also saw generous supporters contribute 7,919 pesos in donations, further strengthening our collective ability to create positive change in communities across the Philippines.
A Year for Volunteerism: iVolunteer Philippines Joins the Global #IVY2026 Movement
This quarter, iVolunteer Philippines proudly aligned itself with a landmark global initiative, the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development 2026 (#IVY2026), declared by the United Nations General Assembly to place volunteerism at the heart of the world’s development agenda. Running through 2026, this initiative champions volunteerism in all its forms while fostering inclusive policies that ensure volunteer contributions are recognized and measured. For iVolunteer Philippines, this global recognition is a powerful affirmation of the work it has championed since its founding. It’s been the country’s first and only tech-based non-profit focused on volunteer development, iVolunteer stands at the forefront of this movement, committed to ensuring that every Filipino who wants to serve has the platform, the opportunity, and the support to do so.
Partners Appreciation Night: Honoring the People Who Show Up

One of the most memorable highlights of Q1 was our annual Partners Appreciation Night (PAN), held on February 21, 2026, in Pasig City. The event brought together 65 individuals from partner NGOs, corporations, LGUs, and other institutions to celebrate the achievements of the previous year and recognize the partners behind the organization’s successful milestones. It was an evening of gratitude, reflection, and renewed commitment. This is a reminder that behind every volunteer mobilized and every community served, there are dedicated organizations and individuals who make it all possible. This kind of Partners’ Appreciation gathering celebrates the collaborative spirit that fuels iVolunteer’s mission and acknowledges the tremendous impact that results when diverse stakeholders unite behind a common purpose.
Bayanihan Pulse: The State of Philippine Volunteerism

This quarter also saw the launch of the Bayanihan Pulse, a landmark research initiative dedicated to understanding the Philippine volunteer sector. By analyzing the experiences of current volunteers, the study aims to design more effective developmental programs and inspire a new generation of Filipinos to contribute to nation-building. The findings paint an encouraging picture: iVolunteer Philippines is the first and only tech-based non-profit organization in the Philippines which focuses on volunteer development, doing this through educating Filipinos on the importance of volunteerism and enabling volunteering opportunities through its platform. The research affirms this role, with iVolunteer widely perceived as a transformative platform that successfully lowers the barrier to entry for aspiring volunteers — earning an “Excellent” rating from the vast majority of its active users. Volunteers consistently highlighted the platform’s role as a trusted, no-cost bridge between themselves and vetted NGOs, as well as the great variety of sourced events available. This study will serve as an ongoing baseline for monitoring the progress and growth of the volunteer sector in the years to come.
Volunteer Appreciation Day — Binhi English Literacy Foundation

iVolunteer Philippines was honored to be part of Binhi English Literacy Foundation’s Volunteer Appreciation Day, joining the NGO’s volunteers, corporate partners, and institutional supporters in celebrating the people who show up for the children they serve. Binhi English Literacy Foundation, Inc. is an NGO focused on helping children aged 5 to 8 years old learn how to read, speak, and spell better in English using Science of Reading-aligned strategies. iVolunteer Philippines has received recognition and appreciation from Binhi English Literacy Foundation for being one of its long-time partners in enabling its programs through volunteers. The event was also a beautiful reminder of the ripple effect of volunteerism — a testament to how one expo, one invitation, and one “yes” can change the course of someone’s life of service.
1st Volunteer Appreciation Night of We Lift Club

We closed out January on a high note by attending the very first Volunteer Appreciation Night of We Lift Club, held on January 25 at Urban Deca Homes-Ortigas. The event recognized the efforts and contributions of their volunteers and partners to their causes and activities since the organization’s founding in 2017. iVolunteer helps bridge the gap by matching volunteers to opportunities based on their skills, interests, and advocacies, and as years have progressed, has transformed into a community empowered by a shared passion for volunteerism and nation-building. We Lift Club is one of iVolunteer’s most active NGO partners, championing the empowerment of indigenous communities through accessible education, holistic development, and a sustainable environment. Celebrating their milestone was a proud moment for our entire network.
iVolunTree 2025: Granting Wishes, Transforming Communities

The holiday season brought renewed warmth and purpose as iVolunteer Philippines completed the distribution phase of iVolunTree 2025 — its annual Christmas initiative that raises funds to fulfill the wish lists of partner NGOs and the communities they serve. This quarter, seven organizations across the Philippines received the gifts they had hoped for: BINHI English Literacy Foundation received story and reading books to strengthen literacy in Metro Manila classrooms; ATD Fourth World Philippines received a laptop to power their new program coordinator’s work in grassroots communities; SOS Children’s Village Davao received groceries, clothing, and milk for the children in their care; Project PEARLS received durable tables and chairs for their feeding and learning sessions; Karinderia ni Mang Urot received sacks of rice to sustain their weekly feeding operations; Tambayan Center for Children’s Rights received support for a healing youth camp for 25 survivors of trafficking and abuse; and EGIP Foundation received slippers and hygiene kits for Obu-Manuvu children in Sitio Namnam, Davao City. Each fulfilled wish is a testament to the power of collective generosity. It is a proof that when Filipinos come together with compassion and purpose, no dream for a community is too small to come true.
A Day with Our BINHI Reading Warriors: Celebrating Volunteers in Action for Literacy

On March 14, iVolunteer Philippines joined BINHI English Literacy Foundation in honoring the 525 dedicated volunteers who have powered their literacy mission throughout the school year, packing learning kits, facilitating reading assessments, teaching students online, and championing the cause as ambassadors and advocates. The celebration in Makati City was a joyful blend of community and reflection, opening with an inspirational message from BINHI President Ms. Lisa Bayot, followed by games, an outcomes presentation crediting volunteers as key to the foundation’s success, and a Book Exchange that embodied the shared love of reading at the heart of BINHI’s work. Partners The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (Philippines), Century Pacific Group-RSPo Foundation, Enchanted Kingdom, and ITA-Outline generously contributed tokens of appreciation, from tote bags and tumblers to Enchanted Kingdom tickets, making each volunteer feel truly seen and celebrated. The event closed with the recognition of outstanding volunteers whose exceptional dedication continues to inspire both the BINHI team and every child whose life has been changed by the gift of reading. It was a powerful reminder that literacy is not built by programs alone — it is built by people who show up, week after week, with patience, heart, and purpose.
SDG Action Summit 2026: Turning Bold Ideas Into Real Action

On February 24, 2026, iVolunteer Philippines took the stage at the SDG Action Summit 2026 at Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City. It is a gathering of youth leaders, NGOs, social enterprises, and changemakers organized by Global Changemaker Schools, all united by the call to Explore, Engage, and Empower. Executive Director Judith represented iVolunteer Philippines among the summit’s inspiring roster of speakers and exhibitors, igniting civic action with a message that resonated deeply with the audience: that every Filipino has the power to make a difference, and that the volunteer journey begins with a single, courageous step. The summit served as a natural platform for iVolunteer Philippines to amplify its mission — connecting aspiring volunteers with meaningful opportunities and demonstrating that volunteerism is one of the most accessible and impactful ways to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. iVolunteer’s presence at events like this reinforces its role as a bridge between individual passion and collective action, inspiring a new generation of Filipinos to say yes to service.
Start your Adventure: Planting Seeds of Volunteerism in Mindanao

On February 25, 2026, the iVolunteer Philippines Mindanao Regional Unit brought its signature Start Your Adventure program to the University of Mindanao’s Interbranch UN SDG Students’ Conference, held at the DPT Auditorium — reaching over 150 students from UM Main, UM Panabo, UM Bansalan, UM Tagum, UM Digos, and UM Peñaplata. The session was led by Mindanao Regional Unit Director Ms. Carla Joy Salvacion, in collaboration with the University of Mindanao Council of College Student Government, and offered students valuable insights on the transformative power of volunteerism and the many ways they can engage meaningfully with their communities. By embedding the volunteer conversation within an SDG-focused conference, iVolunteer Philippines reinforced a powerful truth that advancing the Sustainable Development Goals and cultivating a culture of service are not separate endeavors, they are one and the same. This engagement reflects iVolunteer’s growing regional reach and its commitment to ensuring that the call to volunteer is heard not just in Metro Manila, but in every corner of the Philippines.
3rd Community Extension Congress: Advancing Service and Scholarship in Mindanao

iVolunteer Philippines took center stage at the University of Mindanao’s 3rd Community Extension Congress, held at AVR 4, UM Matina Campus, as part of the institution’s 80th Founding Anniversary celebrations. The congress united students, faculty, and community partners from across UM’s branches for a day of plenary discussions on the power of extension work and volunteerism with iVolunteer Philippines’ Mindanao Regional Unit Director, Ms. Carla Joy E. Salvacion, delivering an inspiring talk on meaningful volunteer engagement and service opportunities. Alongside speakers from CHED XI and World Vision, the event reinforced the shared conviction that higher education and civil society organizations are strongest when they work hand in hand. Competitions in Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, and Booth Exhibits further showcased the innovative community programs emerging from UM’s campuses, with UM Panabo, UM Main Biology Program, and UM Bansalan taking home top honors. iVolunteer’s presence at this congress reflects its growing role as a trusted partner in nurturing a culture of volunteerism among the next generation of Filipino leaders.
Mindanao Meet-Ups: Volunteerism in Action Across Davao

This quarter, iVolunteer Philippines’ Mindanao Regional Unit (MRU) brought volunteers closer to the communities that need them most through a series of meaningful local engagements across Davao City. From packing essential groceries for children and families at SOS Children’s Village Davao, to supporting a musical program for the young residents of Field of Dreams Children’s Charity Foundation, volunteers showed up with heart and purpose across a range of causes. The quarter also featured “Hands of Davao,” a one-of-a-kind arts and advocacy workshop organized in celebration of Araw ng Davao 2026, where Fine Arts volunteers helped participants translate Filipino Sign Language into hand paintings — a beautiful fusion of creativity, culture, and inclusivity. Each meet-up was a testament to the MRU’s commitment to making volunteerism accessible, relevant, and deeply rooted in the lived realities of Mindanao’s communities. Together, these events reflect iVolunteer’s belief that service is not a single grand gesture, but a steady, consistent presence in the lives of those we walk alongside.
Parada Dabawenyo 2026: Marching for a Culture of Service

In one of the most spirited public engagements of the quarter, iVolunteer Philippines joined the Parada Dabawenyo 2026 — one of Davao City’s grandest cultural celebrations — to bring volunteerism into the streets and into the public consciousness. Walking the route from Ateneo de Davao University Roxas to San Pedro Square, iVolunteer volunteers proudly represented the organization and its mission, serving as living proof that a culture of service thrives in the heart of Mindanao. More than a parade, the experience was an opportunity to spark curiosity, inspire onlookers, and demonstrate that volunteerism is not confined to program halls and community centers — it belongs everywhere people gather. The event embodied iVolunteer’s vision of a Philippines where service is a shared identity, and where every public space is an opportunity to invite others into that story. Marching together in blue, iVolunteer’s contingent carried forward a simple but powerful message: that showing up, in every sense of the word, is an act of change.
Looking Ahead
Q1 2026 has set a powerful tone for the rest of the year. As we move into the second quarter, iVolunteer Philippines carries forward the momentum generated by these impactful activities. With our growing community of volunteers, we continue to demonstrate that when Filipinos come together with purpose and compassion, positive change follows. Whether you are a seasoned volunteer or someone taking your very first step, we welcome you to be part of this journey. Together, every act of service counts.
