1. Coastal Clean up and Nature Walk Activity

  • Where: Las Pinas-Paranaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA)
  • When: June 11 & July 16 (6am – 2pm)
  • What: Clean up and discussion on the importance of consumption lifestyle
  • Fee: Php 800 (permit, carpool from Cubao)
  • Organized by: We Lift Club

We Lift Club is a non-profit organization that aims to make a difference by reaching out to children in remote areas, raising environmental awareness and promoting sustainable tourism. The Coastal Clean up will be conducted in LPPCHEA, a “175-hectare protected area that consists of mangroves, lagoons and ponds located in the Manila Bay coastal area.” The event intends to bring people closer to the waste problem and raise awareness on how lifestyle consumption contributes to pollution.

2. Luntiang Marikina: River Clean Up Activity

  • Where: Roman Garden, Marikina River Park
  • When: June 18 & July 16 (8am – 11am)
  • What: Clean up along Marikina River Park
  • Fee: None but bring your own cleaning materials (walis, dust pan, trash bag)
  • Organized by: La Liga Mariquina Inc.

La Liga Mariquina Inc. (LM) is a non-profit organization that aims to give back to the community and to become a catalyst of change. They organize tree planting and coastal clean up activities along the Marikina River Parks. Apart from this, they have an Online Volunteer Tutor Program for public school students, and a Drug Awareness and Self Rehabilitation Program for Children in Conflict with the Law.

3. Cavite Tree Planting

  • Where: Barangay San Rafael, Noveleta Cavite
  • When: June 12 & 25, July 10 & 24 (1:30pm – 6pm)
  • What: Tree planting in a mangrove forest
  • Fee: Php 777 (seeds, boat, snacks, local guide)
  • Organized by: NACCI

Nature Awareness and Conservation Club Inc. (NACCI) was created to pursue environmental programs geared towards the conservation of the eco-system. They focus on organizing tree planting events for outreach programs and corporate social responsibility. This year, they started mangrove tree planting in Lemery Batangas and Noveleta Cavite. Apart from tree planting, NACCI also organizes scuba diving to encourage aspiring scuba divers to do underwater clean up.

4. Feeding and Brain Boosting Program

  • Where: Helping Complex, Tondo, Manila
  • When: Every Saturday (8am – 11am)
  • What: Preparation or serving of food, art teaching for kids
  • Fee: None
  • Organized by: Project Pearls

Project Pearls is a non-profit organization that aims to break the cycle of poverty and encourage children to achieve their dreams. They focus on education, nutrition, health care, economic and community development. On weekends, they conduct a feeding program and tutorial in Tondo. Saturdays are for art activities while Sundays are for academic tutorials to help minimize school dropouts. Apart from these, they also have a scholarship program for kids from preschool up to college.

5. Virtual Volunteer for Children with Cancer and Chronic Illness

  • Where: Zoom (Virtual)
  • When: June 18 & July 16 (3pm – 5pm) for orientation
  • What: Assemble activity sheets, research, gather donations, make instructional videos, and other skill-based volunteer opportunities
  • Fee: None
  • Organized by: Kythe Foundation

Kythe Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps improve lives of children with cancer and other chronic illnesses. Through their Child Life Program, they have provided psycho-social support to alleviate the anxiety and reduce burden of the patients and their families. They provide medical assistance, educational assistance and virtual play sessions. They are currently looking for virtual volunteers who can spare time in preparing activity sheets, doing research, gathering donations and other skill-based opportunities (writing, graphic design, video editing, etc.). Orientations for aspiring volunteers are scheduled once a month.
