7 Acts of Random Kindness to Celebrate “Be An Angel Day”

21st century human beings lead busy lives. They can be workaholics – racehorses in blinders focused on achieving a goal. They can be social media obsessed – sharing every bit of their day online. They are a generation prone to self-absorption, we are.

It is easy to get engrossed in our daily activities. While it is our nature to be givers, this society has nurtured us to become getters.

Today is a reminder that we are all fundamentally good. And that there are plenty simple ways to express that goodness. We cannot grow wings or halos, but we can still try to be angels here on Earth.

CREATE HEAVEN ON EARTH.

Heaven is not a place, it is a state. It is not somewhere we go to, it is something we feel. Heaven is not something we can find, rather, it is something we create everyday. Recycling is a simple act that births beauty and life out of waste. A plastic bottle turned into brick are building blocks that brings us closer to heaven. Learn how to make heaven on Earth here.

GIVE FREE HUGS!

We need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need twelve hugs a day for growth – Virginia Satir, a respected family therapist.

Hugs have a growing number of medical benefits. You might just save a life by being part of the HUG Project. This project donates teddy bears hand-made by volunteers to children in need. Know more on how to save a life here.

DO NOT LOOK DOWN ON ANYBODY, UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO HELP THEM. BUT IF YOU ARE INDEED GOING TO HELP, THEN BEND DOWN LIKE A BAMBOO TREE.

Join Kawayanihan 2017: Camp Kawayan. Go on an adventure, meet people, plant seeds of hope, and plant bamboo trees to combat climate change. Follow this link for more details.

MAGING PAG-ASA NG MGA ‘PAG-ASA NG BAYAN’.

Youth is the hope of the Fatherland, but who are the youth’s hope? You can be. You can be their angel by simply sharing a lesson, kind words of encouragement, or a fun game. By doing this, you become a guardian of you and your country’s future. Learn more details here.

GIVE.

Giving leaves you with less, yes. But it leaves you with room for more. If you want to be the kind of angel who earn and learns even greater as you give, follow this link.

DO SOMETHING FOR THE LITTLE ANGELS.

Babies remind us of angels. They may be helpless with their small hands and feet but their smiles brighten the room and lift people’s moods. Do something for these angels and be an angel yourself. Follow this link to know more.

IF YOU CANNOT FLY, RUN!

Yes, we cannot fly or make others fly. But we are not powerless. We have the ability to lift someone’s spirit. It can be as simple as showing we care, and there are many ways to do that, like running for them! Join iVolunteer’s Bayanirun 2017 and show-off that superpower of yours. Check this link for more details.

Kindness is engraved in our consciousness. Today is a good time to rediscover and carry it forward. Enjoy the day and stay a blessing!
