Welcome to the new official blog of iVolunteer Philippines!
It has been almost two full years since we last created a blog entry for iVolunteer (which you can find in our original blog here) and so much has changed in the organization and in our online presence since then. Two years is an eternity on the Internet, so here’s a quick update for those of you who haven’t been keeping track:
- A new core team – The baton has been handed down to a new generation, and a new core team is in place to continue the legacy of iVolunteer, bringing with them their passion for volunteerism and their expertise in new media. We’ll be publishing an introductory post soon on the blog so you can meet the team that’s hard at work in enabling every Filipino to be a hero!
- Online portal – What was originally a series of blog posts on Blogger is now a full-blown online portal, www.ivolunteer.com.ph, where you can sign up and look for volunteer opportunities. Since we created the site, we’ve been able to connect over 1500 volunteers to our 30 partner organizations! There’s a lot more planned ahead for iVolunteer, as we continue to expand our footprint across the country!
- Social media presence – We expanded our presence to Facebook and Twitter, where we’ve been able to reach a whole new audience and engage the next generation of Filipino volunteers!
- Official SEC registration – We are now officially recognized with the Securities & Exchange Commission as a non-profit organization! This paves the way for the continued professionalization of iVolunteer Philippines from what was once a rag-tag band of volunteers 🙂
We’re in the process of migrating our old blog entries over here, but you can still access them on Blogger. Thanks for the continued support, and stay tuned for all the exciting news and activities we have lined up!
