As we conclude the first quarter of the year, iVolunteer looks back on a successful series of events and activities that have made a significant impact on the lives of many. From empowering individuals to start their volunteer journey to contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), iVolunteer has been at the forefront of promoting volunteerism and creating meaningful experiences for volunteers and beneficiaries alike.
Highlighting iVolunteer’s Q1 Impact Report
This quarter, we gathered 1,888 volunteers across the Philippines. Volunteers signed up through our website and partnered with their chosen NGOs in a total of 268 events. NGOs have been actively utilizing our platform to recruit volunteers, posting a total of 7075 volunteering opportunities that cater to various causes and initiatives.
Championing Sustainable Development at the SDG Action Summit
iVolunteer proudly participated in the SDG Action Summit 2023, a gathering of young changemakers, educators, and advocates committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Our booth showcased how volunteerism serves as a powerful catalyst for achieving these global objectives, drawing attention from attendees eager to make a difference.
The summit provided a platform for inspiring discussions on how our organization align with efforts toward sustainable and equitable future. Our presence at this prestigious event underscored the critical role volunteers play in addressing complex societal challenges.
Creating Joy through “Tara! Laro Tayo!”
One of this quarter’s highlights was our mega-volunteering event in Davao, “Tara! Laro Tayo!” at SOS Children’s Village. Volunteers embraced their roles as caring “Ates” and “Kuyas”, creating a day filled with games, stories, and laughter for the children. 82 volunteers joined forces to support 56 children from different communities.
The event exemplified how simple acts of presence and care can create lasting memories for children. Our volunteers reported that the joy they witnessed in the children’s faces was matched only by the fulfillment they themselves experienced.
Enriching Minds through “Tara! Museum Tayo!”
Culture and education merged beautifully during our “Tara! Museum Tayo!” initiative, where volunteers accompanied children from partner NGOs to the National Museum of the Philippines. 166 volunteers showed up for 100 kids. Each volunteer served as a buddy to the children, guiding them through exhibits that showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage.
This experience sparked curiosity and learning in both the children and their volunteer companions. As they explored artifacts and artworks together, meaningful conversations emerged about history, identity, and creativity.
Celebrating Our Community at Partners’ Night

The quarter included a heartwarming Partners’ Night Appreciation event, where we recognized the invaluable contributions of our partner organizations, volunteer leaders, and corporate supporters. This gathering celebrated the collaborative spirit that fuels iVolunteer’s mission and acknowledged the tremendous impact that results when diverse stakeholders unite behind a common purpose.
The recognition bestowed during this evening reflected our deep gratitude for the commitment shown by these partners, whose support enables us to expand our reach and deepen our impact across Philippine communities.
Empowering Volunteer Leaders in Mindanao
Our commitment to developing regional volunteer capacity was evident in the Volunteer Engagement Workshop held for Mindanao NGO partners. Twelve volunteer leaders representing eight organizations participated in this comprehensive training led by iVolunteer founders JB Tan and Bel Padlan.
The workshop covered everything from the landscape of Philippine volunteerism to technical aspects of volunteer engagement. Participants engaged in strategic planning activities, translating concepts into actionable plans for their respective organizations. The day was punctuated with energizing games that fostered camaraderie among these dedicated leaders.
Looking Forward
As we move into the second quarter, iVolunteer Philippines carries forward the momentum generated by these impactful Q1 activities. Our growing community of volunteers continues to demonstrate that when Filipinos come together with purpose and compassion, positive change follows.
Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or someone considering your first volunteer experience, iVolunteer welcomes you to join our journey of service. Together, we can build a culture of volunteerism that transforms not only communities but also the hearts of those who serve.
